Two Chinese citizens, a man with the initials LB and a woman with the initials LL, were deported from Bali on Friday, the 11th of August, 2023. These two Chinese tourists  were deported back to their country for setting up a fake company on the Island of the Gods.

TPI Denpasar Class I Immigration Office Head Tedy Riyandi revealed that LB and LL are holders of Limited Stay Permits (ITAS) or Investor Visas. He said both of them violated Article 75, paragraph 1, of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration.

“The two Chinese citizens were deported because they were suspected of having committed illegal actions, namely setting up a fake company using the ITAS Investor visa mode,” said Tedy in a written statement received by a local news outlet on Friday, the 11th of August 2023.

The two Chinese tourists were deported through Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport at around 12.30 a.m. WITA. The two were closely escorted before flying to Denpasar-Guangzhou using China Southern Airlines CZ626.

Tedy explained that the Chinese citizens were sent home at their own expense. “The pair of Chinese citizens will temporarily not be able to re-enter Indonesia, especially Bali,” he said

Tedy added that Bali Immigration is working hard to crack down on this kind of violation because this kind of visa violation where foreigners set up a fake company is rather hard to keep up and track down. That is why Tedy encourages the public to report any foreigners who act suspiciously around them. Tedy highlighted that taming down the unruly tourist is a collective effort, and the immigration would never be able to work alone without the help of all stakeholders and the public.
