10 Foreigners Filed Complaint Over Bali Roosters Crowing at Dawn

Ten foreign guests at a Jimbaran, Bali homestay allegedly complained about roosters crowing early in the morning and disrupting their slumber. The parties involved, unhappy with being able to hear the roosters from Anumana Bay View Bali homestay, submitted the complaint on Thursday, 2nd of March, 2023, according to South Kuta Public Order Chief I Kadek Agus Alit Juwita.

Alit Juwita explained, “The roosters are crowing every day, and this individual grumbled because it happens at dawn (4 am–5 am) and also at noon.” The report was brought to Alit Juwita’s station by a Russian citizen representing the ten homestay guests.

The reports indicate that the roosters cackle daily. The guest has been a resident of this guesthouse for a month, according to Alit Juwita.

The official remarked that he found the report amusing and unusual, adding that despite the homestay’s lengthy history, no visitors had ever made a scene over roosters in the neighbourhood. Therefore, it is fair to presume that Bali authorities won’t be rounding up roosters soon to wake up some tourists.

Locals in Bali have been delighted and irritated by news of the complaint, as is to be expected. The wife of social media activist and Superman Is Dead drummer Jerinx, Nora Alexandra, expressed her shock at the strangers’ boldness on Instagram.

“How can you justify roosters’ crowing? Do you wish to silence them? You’re fortunate to be able to travel to Bali, so please try not to worry about the little things,” she wrote in the text above the picture.

“Should the roosters start to crow right now? How will the roosters react when questioned?” she added ironically.

“Interacting with people who behave like Bali’s kings and princesses is frightening.” she concluded.
