A joint team comprising the Jakarta and Bali Police successfully apprehended three Mexican gangsters associated with a gang on Saturday, 27th January 2024, at their residence in the Ungasan area of South Kuta.

The trio of Mexican gangsters, suspected of being involved in the shooting incident targeting Turan Mehmet, a 30-year-old Turkish citizen, on 23rd January 2024, was taken into custody.

The Mexican gang members were arrested early in the morning while still asleep, at approximately 7 AM local time. The three suspects, identified as Escobedo Juan Antonio (24 years old), Aramburo Contreras Jose Alfonso (32 years old), and Deraz Gonzalez Victor Eduardo (36 years old), were detained without resistance.

Following an investigation of the crime scene and a review of the villa’s CCTV footage, the Bali Police have successfully identified the alleged perpetrator. The three Mexican gangsters involved used guns to shoot Turan Mehmet, causing severe injuries that required intensive hospital treatment.

As per the villa security’s account, the sequence of the shooting incident was initiated when one of the perpetrators approached the villa security post around 1 AM. This individual inquired about the victim’s home address, displaying photos of the house on his phone. Shortly thereafter, the security guard provided the victim’s address and was promptly targeted by the perpetrator with a gun.

The captive security guard at the villa attempted to resist, but the second perpetrator had already entered the victim’s villa area, leading to several minutes of gunfire. Five shots were discharged at the victim, and the three perpetrators quickly fled the place.

After escaping from the perpetrators, the security guard promptly contacted the villa management and initiated the evacuation of the bloodied victim.

The Bali Police are actively tracing and investigating the source of the guns used by the three Mexican gangsters and examining their motives. According to the latest information from the Bali Police, there was a previously friendly relationship between the victim and the perpetrators before the shooting incident occurred.
