Batik Air Offer New Singapore Direct Flight From Indonesia

Batik Air will begin operating daily international flights between Singapore’s Changi Airport and Bali’s I Ngurah Rai International Airport in April this year. This flight passage will be advantageous to various customers, according to the subsidiary of low-cost carrier Lion Air, Batik Air.

On 28th of February, 2023, Batik Air’s Danang Mandala Prihantoro, director of strategic corporate relations, stated that the first flight would launch in April. The two most well-known tourist sites in Indonesia and Singapore will be better-connected thanks to this flight, according to Danang. Direct flights save travelers time by eliminating transit time.

The company added that data from Statistics Indonesia, which recorded 377,276 visitor trips to Bali in February of this year alone, was cited as supporting this flight path. Comparing this amount of visitors to November last year, statistics show a growth of 31.27 percent.

In addition, Batik Air believes this direct flight will better support the government’s initiatives to promote tourism and education during an improving pandemic. Up to 7.4 million expatriates and 1.2 billion domestic tourists are anticipated.

Batik Air announced their direct flight from Yogyakarta to Singapore earlier this year. Batik Air is on a roll to reopen the previously shut down international flight during the pandemic’s peak.

The Yogyakarta-Singapore route will be operated by Batik Air using a Boeing 737-800NG, the “Most Modern Generation in the Fleet,” with 12 business class places and 150 economy class seats.

Additionally, this route is being made available prior to the inaugural event of the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2023 and the travel exchange, or TRAVEX ATF, which both take place at the Yogya Expo Center from the 2nd – 5th of February 2023.

After flights from Jakarta, Medan, Kualanamu, Surabaya, and Makassar, Yogyakarta to Singapore is the fifth path. Additional international routes to Singapore from other Indonesian cities will be created based on the market’s desire for local and foreign flights, Danang added.
