It has been confirmed that Argentina will face off against Australia and Indonesia in June. Argentina, which won the 2022 World Cup, will visit Asia on their Asia tour in June. According to Marcos Durán, Argentina will face Indonesia on the 19th of June in Jakarta, as opposed to Bangladesh, as initially reported.

On their Asian tour, Argentina’s national team will compete in two games. The World Cup champions face Australia in Beijing on the 15th of June in their opening game. Previously, Argentina defeated Australia in the round of 16 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup with a score of 2-1. The second match will be against Indonesia on the 19th of June in Jakarta.

The national team of Argentina tweeted on their official account about their anticipated tour to Asia, which includes a friendly match against Indonesia on the 19th of June in Jakarta.

However, it should be mentioned that friendly matches are low-stakes matches with peripheral players; nevertheless, it is undoubtedly fantastic news to see the superstars go to the field in this rare opportunity for many Indonesians to witness them up close against the national football team.

In all probability, Indonesia, which is now the 149th-ranked team in the world according to FIFA, would have difficulty competing against Argentina, the team with the most substantial record to date.

The Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium in Jakarta is probably where the match will take place, according to the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI), but informations about it are still being worked out.

The FIFA U-20 World Cup was scheduled to be held in six locations, including Jakarta, in Indonesia this month. FIFA revoked Indonesia’s hosting rights in March after Indonesian lawmakers and conservative organisations, purportedly in favour of the Palestinian cause, loudly criticised Israel’s participation.

Argentina was ultimately allowed to host the prestigious tournament by FIFA, and as is customary for host countries, their junior team replaced Indonesia’s national team.
