Three years is the time limit for choosing one citizenship, whether to keep their Indonesian after 18 years of age or married.
These procedures are based on Indonesian law number 12 of 2006 to obtain Indonesian citizenship for dual citizenship for children.
- Children who were born before August 1, 2006, must get an immigration permit; if they have not applied for permanent registration, it can be processed at the local immigration office.
- Parents/guardians must report to the local immigration office by attaching a passport and Ministerial Decree regarding the acquisition of limited dual citizenship after the permanent registration.
- All the immigration documents need to be returned.
- Children with limited dual citizenship who were born after August 1st, 2006, The Republic of Indonesia Travel Document can be granted for Children even if they have a foreign passport and a stamp of limited dual citizenship.
