In a recent viral social media post, CCTV footage captured the misdeeds of a blue (foreign national) causing trouble once again in Bali. This time, an expatriate, suspected of stealing a motorcycle, was caught on camera in the parking area in front of The Capital Hotel on Jalan Raya Petitenget, Kerobokan Kelod, North Kuta, Badung.

The incident occurred on Sunday, October 15, 2023, around 11:53 AM. The CCTV cameras clearly recorded the foreigner in action as he stole a black Honda Scoopy with the license plate DK 3103 KBG, which was rented by an Australian tourist identified as AY since Thursday, October 5, 2023.

In the 57-second video recording, the sequence of events unfolds as AY arrives at the hotel’s parking area with the Honda Scoopy, and the suspect swiftly enters the premises to check in.

As soon as the renter enters, two individuals, both riding together on a motorcycle, approach and focus their attention on the Honda Scoopy. The individuals, whose characteristics match those of foreigners, immediately move towards their target.

One of the perpetrators dismounts from the motorcycle to easily take possession of the Honda Scoopy.

AY only realizes that his rented motorcycle is missing around 1:45 PM. The Australian national promptly contacts the motorbike rental service owner, identified as IMM, to report the incident.

In fact, the foreigner initially suspected that the rental service owner had taken the vehicle without notice.

“The motorbike rental service owner firmly denies taking the vehicle, as the clear footage reveals that the culprits are two unknown foreigners,” added a source.

As a result of this incident, IMM incurred a loss of IDR 20 million. The case has been reported to the North Kuta Police Substation. Currently, the police are actively investigating this theft.

Iptu Ketut Sudana, the Public Relations Officer of the Badung Regional Police, when contacted regarding the case, was unable to provide a statement as the investigation is ongoing.
