Grand Hyatt Bali – Grand Inclusion Package Review

Share:

In this month’s hotel review, Social Expat took the opportunity to spend a fun-filled, action-packed 2-day trip to the famously popular Grand Hyatt, Nusa Dua to try out their Grand Inclusion package. Here is how it went!

This trip features one of our members staying in a Grand Suite King in the North Village and taking the opportunity to try the famous Grand Inclusion package.

Grand Inclusion Package

Firstly, for those unfamiliar with Hyatt’s packages, they offer different options for staying based on preferences and budgets. For this stay, we opted for the Grand Inclusion package which included: breakfast, lunch and dinner, which also provides free-flow alcohol and soft drinks. Additionally, Grand Inclusion members also benefit from the Grand Club Lounge access which provides snacks and free-flow soft drinks and alcoholic beverages every day from 5 pm to 7 pm, as well as $50 of spa credit, $50 activity credit and daily access to the kids’ club.

The Grand Inclusion package in our opinion is recommended as it represents great value for money, especially if you like to try lots of food and drinks.

General Feel of the Grand Hyatt Bali

I think the first word that comes to mind is vast! The complex is absolutely gigantic and as it is an older property, there is more emphasis on space and ambience, rather than cramming more rooms in.

The lobby area is open plan in a Balinese style, with traditionally dressed dancers and musicians waiting to greet you with a smile, just before you notice the elevated view which looks across the expansive greenery of the hotel grounds into the sea.

The landscaping in this hotel is incredible, with beautiful koi-filled ponds, and perfectly manicured trees, bushes and plants lining every pathway, it is very rare to find such an expansive space that feels so tranquil.

This hotel has an amazing ambience about it and it is clear that a lot of thought and dedication has been spent ensuring this hotel remains iconic and houses a special warm feeling rarely replicated.

The Grand Suite King Room Review

For this trip, we opted for the spacious room of Grand Suite King and we couldn’t recommend it more! It was absolutely incredible!

At 98 square metres, the grand room includes a small kitchen area, dining area, living room, chill-out day bed (a personal favourite), large balcony, spacious bedroom with large wardrobe, spacious bathroom which contains a bathtub, rain shower and his and her sinks.

Other notable mentions include the TV in the bathroom, which we utilized for a bathtub movie, the great bath products and the special additional amenities list for those who needed something extra.

Our room was lucky enough to have a huge pond outside, which provided a nice romantic evening feel where we enjoyed some personal time and a couple of drinks.

Grand Hyatt Nusa Dua Facilities

Due to the size of the hotel, the facilities as you would expect were pretty special and 2 days clearly wasn’t enough time to utilize them all!

The facilities were extremely vast and the list is long, but I’ll try to summarize what we saw: Huge pools with waterslides, an additional Grand Inclusion Pool (which was much quieter than the other pools), a jacuzzi, a cold plunge pool, pool bar, children’s pool, toddlers pool, multiple restaurants and bars, a small shopping area with shops and photo booths, an ice cream parlour, gym & spa, squash courts, table tennis, tennis courts, stunning spa, activities centre and a conference centre.

I’m pretty sure there is even more than this, but with only 2 days, we certainly didn’t have enough time to really enjoy everything!

Lastly, there was a kids club and nursery area, which was very well-maintained and well-staffed. Although we didn’t have any children with us, we did get a chance to check it out and it was very accommodating, we particularly liked the wild bunnies that lived within the kids’ club which kept us occupied for some time! This Kids club is a fantastic addition to the hotel and I am sure that it would be very helpful for parents that want a little bit of relaxing time.

Hotel Location

The Grand Hyatt Bali is located in Nusa Dua with direct access to an absolutely stunning beach. From the airport, it is a short drive, probably reachable in a 15-minute to 25-minute walk.

For those unfamiliar with the Nusa Dua area, the hotel is located within a huge, well-maintained area in the Southern part of Bali. What makes Nusa Dua different from other parts of Bali is that it is extremely well maintained, the security is great and this area is specifically designed for holidaymakers.

Unlike other areas of Bali, you don’t have stray dogs, hawker stands or people trying to sell you things on the beach. With all this in mind, Nusa Dua is the premium area in Bali for enjoying some relaxing and quality time with family and loved ones.

The Hyatt’s location has direct, private access to a phenomenal beach and to get the best view of it, we would recommend going to the Salsa Verde restaurant rooftop to enjoy it with a cocktail or two.

As a couple that likes to explore, we ventured in both directions and found that within a 10-minute walk, we found lots of other hotels with bars along the beach, so you can experience different places and try other restaurants if you want to explore.

Other Amenities

Restaurants & Foods

There are so many restaurants, bars and lounges at Hyatt and 2 days is clearly not enough time to experience them all!

Here are the different restaurant options available:

Restaurants & Bars we tried:

  • Garden Cafe – Asian restaurant, surrounded by waterfalls and lagoons.
  • Salsa Verde – Italian cuisine with a Mediterranean feel.
  • Nampu – Japanese restaurant, which also offers Teppanyaki dining.
  • Pasar Senggol – Balinese & Indonesian cuisine with seafood BBQ.
  • Water court – International cuisine, surrounded by beautiful nature.
  • Veranda Lounge & Bar – A great lounge or bar space to observe great views with delectable drinks.
  • Salsa Bar – A stunning bar with incredible beach views, perfect for sundown.
  • Grand Club Lounge – Exclusive open lounge space for Grand Inclusion members.

Overall, we tried a variety of dishes, but unfortunately, we didn’t have time to try everything. Overall, we would note that the food was good quality throughout and the menu choices were vast, ensuring you couldn’t get bored of the menu.

We particularly enjoyed our experience at Nampu, where we experienced an evening dinner enjoying Teppanyaki dining. We met the manager Nafri, who told us more about the experience and dining options and was a really great representative of the restaurant.

Spa at Grand Hyatt Bali

As a couple where one of us loves massage and the other generally hates it, we had mixed feelings going into this experience, but nonetheless, we embarked on a traditional Balinese massage together and it was actually really, really good!

The spa area is located in its own huge complex about a 10-minute walk from the lobby, although you can get a golf buggy to pick you up and drop you off.

The spa area is gigantic and the inspiration of the spa is miniature villas, each treatment area housed inside its own villa.

The massage we had was extremely relaxing and the therapists we had were Dinda & Sartini. Both of them were clearly experts in their trade and over delivered on our expectations.

After our massage, we relaxed in a small lounge area overlooking a pond and it truly was one of the most relaxing experiences I have experienced in Bali.

General Notes to Add

Mosquitos: Despite the number of ponds, the mosquito population was kept well under control and as someone who tends to get bitten a lot, I was personally delighted to get through the stay with zero recorded bites!

Yoga Class: We decided to utilize our Grand Inclusion voucher towards a yoga class led by Iga and it was a wonderful experience. As a couple that doesn’t particularly enjoy yoga, we thought we would give it a try and she was a wonderful teacher who left us feeling positive, warm and happy.

Staff: A special mention should be given to the staff and their hospitality. Everywhere we went, we were greeted with smiles, pleasantries and kindness. It is clear that the staff at Grand Hyatt are proud of their environment. We would like also like to highlight one of the staff Mahendra we came across, we asked him a question and he hugely overdelivered and looked after us. We bumped into Mahendra a couple of times over our trip and loved chatting with him.

You know you have had a great experience when you seriously look into cancelling your future holiday plans to spend 1 more day at the hotel and that is exactly how we felt after our short stay.

I will most definitely be coming back for more and will be bringing my family, as I believe they will absolutely love it!

The Grand Inclusion package in my opinion represents great value for money and you can earn it back from a dinner and a few glasses of wine per day, not to mention lunch, club access and the additional kids club and voucher benefits.

The Grand Hyatt Bali gets a huge thumbs up from me!
