The inclusion of Lake Toba in the New York Times’ list of must-visit destinations in 2024 is not arbitrary. Lake Toba provides a unique perspective of Indonesia, distinct from well-known destinations like Bali, Lombok, or Yogyakarta. This destination offers serenity and natural beauty for all its visitors. At the heart of Lake Toba lies Samosir Island, ranked as the fifth-largest island worldwide. Samosir is home to the Batak tribe, adding cultural richness to the scenic landscape of Toba.
