“No tsunami potential,” BMKG said on its website.
However, the BMKG also warned of the possibility of another smaller earthquake or aftershocks in a short time.
Residents scattered outside in Lombok
The impact from the earthquake were strong enough to be felt throughout the island of Lombok. Sources from various national media said the earthquake was so strong that it shook the houses.
Because the epicenter was located in Lombok, the energy were felt more strongly than in Bali.
“I am still shaking from the strong earthquake,” Yumna, a Mataram, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) resident, told SindoNews.
This news was written when there were no reports of damage caused by the earthquake.
