Four days before the Welcoming Gala Dinner of the 10th World Water Forum, Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park, the venue for the dinner of the Heads of State and delegates, is closed to the public. The temporary closure of one of Bali’s favorite destinations lasts four days, from Thursday, May 16, 2024, until Sunday, May 19, 2024.

GWK Cultural Park has once again been chosen as the esteemed venue for a global event, the 10th World Water Forum. This is not the first time the park has hosted such a prestigious international gathering, having previously been the site of the IMF in 2018 and the G20 Summit in 2022.

The GWK area will be temporarily closed this time to prepare and sterilize the venue ahead of the dinner event.

“We will reopen on May 20, 2024,” said GWK Cultural Park Operations Director Stefanus Yonathan Astayasa in Denpasar.

The 2024 World Water Forum Welcoming Dinner will be held at GWK Cultural Park, precisely in two locations, namely Festival Park and Lotus Pond. The welcoming dinner is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at 18.00 to 22.00 WITA, but there is a possibility to change the time.

For those planning a visit to GWK Cultural Park, please note that the park will be ready to welcome you again starting on May 20, 2024.

During the closure, GWK Cultural Park will take the opportunity to enhance its infrastructure and facilities. This includes maintenance work on the statues, cleaning of the cliffs, repainting, and a boost in security measures. These efforts are aimed at ensuring a more enjoyable and secure experience for our visitors.

According to data from the manager of the 60-hectare tourist attraction, the average daily number of visitors is around 4,000, 20% of whom are foreign tourists, while the remaining 80% are domestic tourists.
