Going Viral: Jalan Goutama in Ubud is a Tourist Must-Go Destination

Share:

Ubud is different from other tourist destinations in Bali. If you think of beautiful beach scenery when you go to Bali, you will not find it in Ubud.

Perched in a hilly area, Ubud envelops you in a serene Balinese ambiance, a stark contrast to the bustling beach scenes. It’s a place where you can truly unwind amidst the lush greenery.

Recently, a particular area in Ubud has taken the world by storm, becoming a social media sensation. This is Goutama Street or Jalan Goutama, a favorite haunt for global tourists, offering a treasure trove of culinary delights and unique souvenirs.

Jalan Goutama is in the center of Ubud. It is close to Puri Ubud and Ubud Art Market but only about 150 meters away. It is divided into two parts, Jalan Goutama Selatan and Jalan Goutama, which Jalan Dewisita separates.

Jalan Goutama is a favorite for tourists who want to try various Balinese souvenir products or just take a leisurely stroll in the middle of Ubud’s hustle and bustle.

Along this street, various cafés and restaurants serve up mouth-watering specialties.

@fierolee Ubud selalu punya tempat istimewa di hati. Romantis dan menenangkan. Banyak banget cafe di jalanan Goutama Ubud! #ubud #ubudbali #goutamaubud #goutamastreet #melalidibali #melalibali #gianyar #baliliving #cafeubud #coffeeshopubud ♬ suara asli – ale

The atmosphere is warm and calm, enriched by low-tempo music and dim lighting. Not surprisingly, this section creates a romantic impression.

Tourists are advised to visit this area at night, starting at 19:00 WITA, and use two-wheeled vehicles or public transportation. This will avoid congestion at the entrance points of Ubud and ensure a pleasant experience for all visitors.

One cafe that often appears on social media discussing Jalan Goutama Ubud is Jinnys Garden. This Italian restaurant is one of the beautiful cafes on Jalan Goutama Ubud.

It is dimly lit and has many indoor plants, making the room feel very relaxed. It is highly recommended that you come in the afternoon or evening because the ambiance feels very romantic and warm.

A few tips: If you want to walk down this street on foot, tourists can park their vehicles in several parking pockets, such as at Ubud Village Square and Ubud Art Market.

Although it can be enjoyed from morning to night, it is best to visit between 18:00 and 19:00 WITA at night. The lights and music in the late afternoon will provide an interesting atmosphere.
