Director General of Immigration Indonesia Silmy Karim said that hundreds of foreigners were arrested on Wednesday, June 27, 2024.

One hundred three (103) foreigners suspected of committing cyber crimes in Bali arrested at a villa in the Tabanan area of Bali are now undergoing examinations. Currently, the foreigners are placed in the Immigration Detention Center in Denpasar, Bali.

When arrested through Operation Bali Becik, the team found many computer devices and cell phones at the location.

“The foreigners are undergoing examination and temporarily placed in the Immigration Detention Center in Denpasar, Bali,” Silmy said, as reported by Detik.

Of the 103 foreigners arrested, 12 were women and 91 were men. Of all the foreigners detained, 14 are Taiwanese, while the identities of the others are unknown.

“Crimes committed by foreigners are one of the crimes we often find in the field. With foreigner surveillance operations like this, Immigration also supports the Online Gambling Eradication Task Force,” said Silmy.

Meanwhile, Director of Immigration Supervision and Enforcement, Safar Muhammad Godam, added that the Bali Becik operation moved to the location after receiving information on foreigners’ activities in a villa in Marga District, Tabanan Regency, Bali.

Safar suspected that the foreigners were abusing their residence permits. His party also explored allegations of cyber crimes in Bali because many computers and cell phones were found in the villa.

“They are suspected of not having documents and misuse of Indonesia immigration permits, and at this time, the possibility of cyber crime is being explored based on many computers and cellphones found at the scene,” Safar said.
