Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, recently launched the “Senandung Dewi (Semarak Event Unggulan di Desa Wisata) 2024” program.

The program aims to introduce a series of events that can attract more tourists to tourist villages.

The ‘Senandung Dewi’ initiative is a result of a collaborative effort involving six events in tourist villages. This collective endeavor is aimed at boosting tourist visits to these villages, as explained by Sandiaga Uno.

In the Senandung Dewi program, two schemes will be designed.

First, to curate tourist villages in Indonesia that already have events but still need to develop.

Second, if the tourist village does not have an event, then an exciting event is designed according to local wisdom, which includes traditional customs, beliefs, and practices unique to each village, ensuring that the events are culturally authentic and respectful.

The first event of the Senandung Dewi series is the Penglipuran Village Festival XI in Penglipuran Tourism Village, Bali, on July 4-7, 2024.

The festival in Penglipuran is an annual event popular with local and foreign tourists. The opening will be at Penataran Temple in Penglipuran Village this year, with a colossal jogged bumbung performance.

Penglipuran Tourism Village Manager Wayan Sumiarsa revealed this. He said this colossal jogged bumbung involved hundreds of junior high school to high school / vocational school children throughout Bangli Regency.

In addition to the colossal jogged bumbung, there will be several exciting events, such as competitions and traditional art performances. The annual Penglipuran Village Festival is usually held in December. Sumiarsa said there are several reasons why the XIth PVF was held in July. Among them are related to weather factors, where rainfall is relatively high in December.

In addition to the Penglipuran Village Festival, here are 5 events in other tourist villages across Indonesia.

1. Event Need Sidowarna Shadow Puppet Festival, Sidowarna Puppet Tourism Village, Klaten, Central Java, on August 10-11, 2024.

2. Hyang Argopuro Festival Jember, Collaboration of 5 Tourism Villages, September 12-13, 2024.

3. Ngopi Padang Mbulan Rame-Rame Event, Ketapanrame Tourism Village, Mojokerto, East Java, on September 19, 2024.

4.. Cultural Echo Festival, Terong Creative Tourism Village, Belitung, November 4-7, 2024.

5. Tourism Event at Golo Bilas Tourism Village, West Manggarai.

With this program, the government hopes that tourist villages throughout Indonesia can be better known and attract more tourists. In addition, the development of events in tourist villages is also expected to impact the local economy and preserve local culture positively.
