MRT Jakarta Allows Visitors to Take Prewedding Photos for Free Under Certain Conditions

Share:

Are you looking for a unique and aesthetic prewedding photos spot in Jakarta? There are various unique places that are suitable for photo shoots, but most of them require permits and fees.

If you want to find a free and hassle-free place, you might want to try a photo shoot at the Jakarta MRT Station.

Non-commercial photo shoots, including prewedding and maternity, conducted at the station are free of charge. The official X MRT Jakarta account, @mrtjakarta, conveyed this on Friday, October 18.

“MRT Jakarta is happy to be an important part of MRT Friends’ journey to marriage. We inform you that pre-wedding photos in the Jakarta MRT Station area do not require permission and are free of charge!”

However, there are some conditions that you must pay attention to, namely:

  • Tools that may be used in the photo shoot include mirrorless/DSLR/smartphone/pocket camera. Photographers are allowed to use camera attachments, namely gorilla pods, microphones, and small camera stabilizers.
  • MRT Jakarta, through its upload, wrote that one person can only do taking photos. So do not bring a group; just one photographer who captures the moment of the couple.
  • It would help if you kept the station area clean. If you bring properties that the station does not prohibit, don’t just leave them behind. Keep it and bring it back home.

Another requirement is that when taking pictures on the Jakarta MRT, you must not do prohibited things, such as leaning on the Platform Screen Door (PSD) or platform edge door, surfing on the banister, dodging the queue, or being too loud.

Some time ago, a viral video circulated showing a pound-fit exercise being carried out at the Jakarta MRT station. The video featured sticks and shouts from participants. Thus, many MRT users complained that the pound-fit activity inside the station was inappropriate.

The viral video drew pros and cons from netizens, although more were against the event and regretted that the noise from the exercise disturbed MRT users.

As a result, PT MRT Jakarta stopped the exercise. MRT stated that they will evaluate to ensure passenger comfort.

Ahmad Pratomo, head of the Corporate Secretary Division of PT MRT Jakarta, said one reason is to prioritize service to people who want to use public transportation.

“Thus, the quality and improvement of services are still prioritized and do not interfere with the comfort and safety of the people who use the Jakarta MRT service,” Pratomo was quoted as reported by Kompas.

The MRT also thanked the public for providing input to the MRT. Pratomo said the MRT would continue supporting community activities in public spaces but with due regard to the applicable norms and rules.
