In the afternoon, a fire broke out in the Grand Indonesia Mall area, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. It is known that the incident originated from one of the restaurants located on the 3A floor, which triggered the appearance of thick smoke.

The head of the DKI Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service, Satriadi Gunawan, said that his party received a fire report at around 12:58 WIB. The Central Jakarta Gulkarmat deployed around 52 personnel to the scene.

“The object is Grand Indonesia floor 3A, Gyukaku Restaurant,” Satriani said, as Antara reported.

In this incident, the DKI Jakarta Gulkarmat Department deployed as many as 13 units of fire trucks with 52 personnel.

As a result of the fire incident, a woman named S (26) became a victim due to shortness of breath.

“1 person was rushed to Tanah Abang Hospital,” said Satriadi.

The extinguishing process was completed at around 2:07 p.m. The incident occurred at Gyu-Kaku restaurant and was suspected to have been caused by a short circuit in the ceiling cable.

The short circuit triggered a flame in the chimney’s layer, which then spread to the bottom of the restaurant seats. Satriadi said security personnel first saw the fire.

Initially, the security guard saw smoke coming out from under the seats of Gyu-Kaku restaurant. This was caused by a short circuit in the ceiling that hit the gamble layer of the air chimney and spread to under the restaurant seats.

He also mentioned that the losses caused by the fire were estimated to reach hundreds of millions.

“The loss is IDR 290,880,000,” said Satriadi.
