Chronology of the Incident

South Kuta Police Chief, AKP I Komang Agus Dharmayana, explained that the tourist arrived at the clinic unconscious and accompanied by a friend. They were transported there by an online taxi. As the tourist remained unconscious upon arrival, neither the doctor nor the duty nurse had conducted an examination.

However, the situation changed once the tourist regained consciousness. His friend, who was present at the location, attempted to calm him by offering a hug. The tourist’s reaction was unexpected.

“When the perpetrator realised, his friend came over and hugged him. However, the perpetrator was shocked and immediately became angry and angry and hit his friend. So that there was a fight with his friend in the examination room,” explained AKP Agus, as quoted by Tribun-Bali.

The tourist then proceeded to damage the facilities in the treatment room, endangering other patients who were also receiving care at the time.

“The perpetrator became increasingly angry by damaging the clinic’s property facilities and had endangered other patients who were in the clinic.”

As the situation escalated and the tourist could not be subdued, clinic security contacted the local Community Protection (Linmas) officer. The police were then called to the scene to detain the American national.

“Because the perpetrator could not be stopped, the security finally contacted the village linmas and the police to immediately come to the location to help secure the perpetrator,” said Agus.

The Perpetrator Compensated IDR 35 Million

Upon the police’s arrival, the tourist was finally pacified. He acknowledged his wrongdoing and agreed to take responsibility for his actions.

The police escorted both the tourist and clinic representatives to the South Kuta Police Station for further questioning.

“The problem has been resolved, in which the perpetrator admits his mistake and is willing to compensate for all damage to goods belonging to Nusa Medica Klinik Pratama,” said AKP Agus.

It is known that the American tourist had been staying at a hotel in the Uluwatu area. The estimated damage caused by his outburst amounted to IDR 35 million, which he promptly paid via bank transfer. The payment was documented with a signed receipt from both parties.
