Anthony Kiedis, Red Hot Chili Peppers Vocalist, Relaxes in Mentawai and Eats Lesehan

The Red Hot Chili Peppers vocalist from the United States was caught on vacation in Mentawai, West Sumatra. This is known from the portrait of Anthony Kiedis with two local residents whom he called local shamans.

In the viral portrait, two shamans enjoy their time with Anthony Kiedis, who is smoking cloves while holding a green gas lighter.

The portrait was uploaded via the @chilipeppers Instagram account belonging to his band. Apparently, Anthony Kiedis’ moment in Mentawai was not limited to that photo alone. Several other portraits were uploaded through social media, such as the @botikresort Instagram account, where Anthony Kiedis and his friends stayed while in Mentawai.

The portrait is unique because Anthony and other guests appear to enjoy their dinner in a ‘lesehan’ style. Lesehan is an Indonesian eating style where we sit cross-legged on the floor and eat with our hands.

Various types of seafood were served in front of Anthony Kiedis and his entourage. The photo was allegedly taken before they started eating because the plates on the table were still neatly arranged.

Some Indonesian netizens made funny and lighthearted comments about the photo.

In fact, one X user even teased Anthony Kiedis for eating a meal without chili sauce.

“Their (band) name is Red Hot Chili Pepper, but they don’t use chili sauce,” tweeted @twnty***.

Some X users also encouraged him to invite Red Hot Chili Pepper to hold a concert in Indonesia.

It seems that Anthony Kiedis’ arrival is purely for a vacation. Apart from Bali, which is famous for its natural panorama, the Mentawai Islands are no less beautiful, with alluring beaches.

There are four islands that are favorite targets including Sipora Island, Siberut Island, South Pagai Island and North Pagai Island and hundreds of small islands around them.
