Everything You Need to Know About Bali Visa as UK Citizens

Share:

If you are from the UK and planning to travel to Bali for vacation or work purposes, then you should consider a “What visa do I need to travel?”. Things have changed a lot since the pre-Covid era, so this article answers the most common questions about Bali Visa for UK citizens.

It also gives advice on the different visa types and requirements to make your trip a hassle-free experience.

Do I need a Visa for Bali / Do I need a Visa for Indonesia?

Prior to Covid 19, UK citizens could arrive using a visa exemption and stay for 30 days. However, during Covid 19, borders were closed and the only way to enter the country was with a Single Entry Visa or a KITAS.

In early 2022, the paid Visa on Arrival (VOA) scheme was introduced, allowing UK citizens to enter Bali using this method. The VOA cost US$35 / IDR 500,000 and can be paid  upon arrival or via online before departure on the Indonesian immigration website, Molina

Visa on Arrival (VOA) – Stay in Bali for up to 60 days

UK citizens who have opted for a Visa on Arrival to enter Bali are eligible to stay in Bali for 30 days after paying an initial fee of US$35 / IDR 500,000. If they would like to extend for an additional 30 days, they can make a VOA extension available from LetsMoveIndonesia.

For more information on extending the Bali Visa on Arrival, visit this page here:  Visa on Arrival Extension

Please note that exceeding the Visa on Arrival will result in a penalty of IDR 1,000,000 per day. Therefore, it is very important to extend your visa before it expires. You can present your passport at least 14 days before the 30 days expire.

Additionally, the Visa on Arrival does not allow the foreigner to extend beyond 60 days or apply for another type of visa while in Indonesia. So if you want to stay longer, you can use a different type of visa.

Bali Single Entry Visa

The Single Entry Visa is the most popular visa type for UK citizens to stay in Indonesia for more than 60 days. There are two types of visas; Single Entry Tourist Visas and Single Entry Business Visa.

This visa requires pre application before entering Indonesia, but allows foreigners to stay in Indonesia for up to 180 days at a time and is renewable. If 180 days isn’t enough to take in all the sights, you can request a new one on land.

How The Bali Single Entry Visa Works

Once you arrive in Indonesia with this visa, the first visa is valid for 60 days. If you want to stay longer, you can extend it twice for another 60 days, giving you the potential to stay in Bali for up to 180 days.

If you travel to other parts of Indonesia, be aware of your visa expiration date and don’t forget to extend it on time. At LetsMoveIndonesia, they have 3 offices in Bali (Seminyak, Sanur, and Canggu) and their headquarters in Kuningan, Jakarta, to help their clients grow their business.
