Indonesia’s newest commercial airline, Bluebird Nordic (BBN) Airlines, has officially entered the Indonesian aviation industry.
BBN Airlines began transporting passengers generally on September 27, 2024, with several flight routes to major Indonesian cities. Today, October 2, 2024, It began providing the Jakarta-Bali route via Ngurah Rai Airport, Denpasar, a significant addition to the airline’s network and a convenient option for travellers.
As reported by Bisnis.com, the Ministry of Transportation stated that BBN Airlines has officially been in the air serving flights in Indonesia since Friday, September 27, 2024.
“BBN Airlines has started operating since September 27, 2024,” said Public Relations Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation Mokhammad Khusnu.
Based on information on the official website, a ticket for a Jakarta (CGK)—Denpasar (DPS) flight on October 2, 2024, costs Rp1.097 million. Meanwhile, for the route from Denpasar (DPS) to Jakarta (CGK) on October 2, 2024, the ticket price is Rp1.009 million.

The airline has obtained an additional Air Operation Certificate (AOC) for commercial passenger flights from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of Indonesia.
This airline is a subsidiary of Avia Solutions Group. Martynas Grigas is the chairman of BBN Airlines Indonesia, while Brendan Martin is the President Director who plays a role in its operation.
The airline also specializes in ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) leasing, charter flight operations, air cargo services, and scheduled flight services, providing a wide range of options for different types of travellers and aviation industry professionals.
BBN Airlines Indonesia’s head office is located at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng, Jakarta, while the operational office is located at Sequis Tower Building, South Jakarta.
BBN Airlines aircraft type
As Kompas.com reported, BBN Airlines Indonesia has prepared three Boeing 737-800 aircraft for passenger charter requests.
Three Boeing 737-800 aircraft are intended for cargo, while Boeing 737-400 aircraft are used for domestic and international flights. In November 2023, the airline also acquired four new aircraft, one Boeing 737-400SF and three Boeing 737-800NG.
This year, BBN plans to add seven more Boeing 737-800 passenger aircraft and two more Airbus aircraft.
