Thousands of Artists Enliven The Denpasar Festival 2022

Denpasar Festival this time passed the curation as the festival of choice in the 2022 Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN) of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia. The festival is enlivened by thousands of artists.

The 15th Denpasar Festival (Denfest) opens on 21 December 2022 and lasts until 25 December 2022. And has a budget of up to IDR 3.69 billion and involves 622 musicians.

“The Denpasar Festival 2022 has the theme Tejarasmi or Light of Beauty which represents the festival as the dawn of awakening for Denpasar City residents, especially through innovation and cultural creativity that is born and stretches in public spaces,” said the Mayor of Denpasar, I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara.

The Denpasar Festival is located in the heritage area of Jalan Gajah Mada and Puputan Badung Field. The conceptualization of the 15th Denpasar Festival uses a street festival strategy.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Denpasar City Tourism Office, Dezire Mulyani said, for the Denfest event use funds from the APBD.

“For funds, use APBD funds in 2022 with an amount of IDR 3.69 billion consisting of funds for promotion, performing arts, making booths and generators,” he said.

Denpasar Festival 2022

There are various agendas that are packaged in the Denpasar festival, including opening and closing inauguration, classical to contemporary art performances, music performances from various genres, fashion events, special and superior culinary, theatre, podcast/talk shows, indie movies, street carnivals, workshops, and more.

These various events involve artists, creative filmmakers, new and legendary musicians, inspirational figures who attend various workshop sessions, and dozens of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from various sub-sectors of the creative economy.

Mayor Jaya also mentioned there were a total of 161 UMKM, 1049 artists, and 622 musicians.

“For MSMEs that have registered, we have curated from 700, according to the requirements of 300 registrants, and curated to 161 MSMEs,”

Also involving creative musicians who have been involved in the arts for a long time, Denfest also involves new musicians who certainly steal hearts with their various works.

Several top bands in Bali were also present to complete the Denpasar City year-end festival, such as Joni Agung, Crazy Horse, Lolot, Navicula, Emoni, and others.

In detail, the staging and show zoning points are spread across Catur Muka, Wantilan Inna Heritage Bali Hotel, Gajah Mada Stage, Badung Market Court, and Puputan Badung Field.

Detour During Denpasar Festival

Meanwhile, the diversion of traffic flow starts from 17 December 2022 – 26 December 2022 which will be carried out at several points.

The details are that Gajah Mada Street is close to the intersection of Sulawesi street — Kartini Street, Arjuna Street is close to the intersection of Karna street and Veteran street is close to the Catur Muka intersection. 

 Flow diversion is also carried out to determine the point of the parking location. 

Parking points are scattered in the Badung Market Basement and located around the festival.
