Grand Hyatt Jakarta: A Luxurious Hotel at the City’s Heart — Looking for a great stay in Jakarta that gives you quick access to the malls and the MRT station right at the heart of Jakarta? Right on one corner of Bunderan HI is where you find the hotel, you won’t be able to miss it as it’s also directly connected to a luxurious mall Plaza Indonesia.
First Impression
Without a doubt, our first impression of the hotel is that it is grand and luxurious. The main lobby doesn’t look like a lobby, it’s grandeur with white marble flooring and a high ceiling that makes you feel like you entered a palace instead of a mall.
The Room
There are two types of rooms that you can choose, the suites and rooms. We stay at their 1 King Bed with Bundaran View Deluxe, which consists of one king bed, bathroom, living area, a workstation, and windows with a view of Bundaran HI. It’s a spacious room that fits approximately 1 to 2 people, there’s a day bed too that you can lounge on to see the busy streets of Bundaran HI. The bed is very comfortable and soft, and the sheets and bathroom are clean and pristine.
Facilities
We visited their gym, which is Club Olympus and it’s open 24 hours every day. Here, they offer some sports facilities such as a fitness center, a swimming pool, jogging track, tennis court and more. There is also a wide range of fitness equipment and classes, which is open to guests and members of the gym. Other than the gym, there’s also a large swimming pool decorated with tall palm trees and greenery. While swimming here, you’ll feel like you’re not in Jakarta but rather, in Bali. Other than the swimming pools, there’s also a children’s pool and a poolside restaurant too!
Food
There are a lot of food options when you stay in Grand Hyatt Jakarta. Other than you can go down to Plaza Indonesia for some of the finest restaurants in Jakarta, you can also try out their restaurants like the Grand Café that serves Indonesian food, Sumire for Japanese food, and a Western grill and Chinese food at C’s. We went to their Japanese restaurant, Sumire, which serves probably the freshest sashimi you can find in Jakarta. The place is very luxurious and there’s a dress code of smart casual.
It mainly serves premium sushi, sashimi, teppanyaki, tempura, and kushiage, but we only try their sashimi and their teppanyaki menu, which is cooked and served directly in front of you. We try their Ise set which consists of Tuna and Salmon sashimi, Live lobster, assorted seafood like Alaskan cod, scallops, and squids along with fried udon, miso soup, and sliced fruits.
Services
The service is top-notch, it’s fast and they are very polite yet friendly. They’re also very helpful in meeting our needs. You can easily reach them out from the phone in your rooms or directly go to the lobby, they’ll grant whatever you need to make your stay feels amazing and incredible.
Verdict
You shouldn’t question the service and quality offered by Grand Hyatt Jakarta. It’s our first time staying at a hotel so grand and luxurious, giving the best service and for sure, I won’t hesitate to come back to Grand Hyatt Jakarta given the chance.
