According to local news sources, the fight started after the Indonesian family asked the restaurant management to warn the Russian tourist not to smoke a vape in the air-conditioned area. AI, who was with a lady called PV (29), took offence to the request.

The Indonesian family complaint was that the family brought their eight-month-old baby to the restaurant. Initial reports gathered by the police state that after being warned by the establishment’s personnel, AI confronted the family, sparking a heated argument that turned violent.

The Indonesian family testified that AI’s violent action injured them, with EN injuring her left shoulder and both knees. At the same time, HY experienced swelling in his left jaw and discomfort in his lower back. Due to a back injury, the elderly L is having trouble moving about.

Meanwhile, AI allegedly suffered scrapes on his left waist, right arm, and injuries to his right ear. PV, however, escaped without any harm and was safely brought to the police station for further questioning.

To investigate the event further, Nyoman reported that the police were interrogating several witnesses and looking through CCTV video of the incident.
