Indonesian President Prabowo Congratulates Donald Trump on U.S. Election Win

President Prabowo Subianto congratulated Donald Trump on his election as the 47th President of the United States, replacing Joe Biden. Prabowo conveyed this congratulation through his X account, @prabowo, which tagged Donald Trump’s account.

“My sincere congratulations to Mr. @realDonaldTrump for being elected as the 47th President of the United States,” Prabowo said, quoted from his X account @prabowo, Wednesday, November 6, 2024.

Prabowo revealed that Indonesia and the United States are strategic partners with strong and diverse relationships. According to him, the strategic partnership between the two countries has immense potential for mutual benefit.

“Our strategic partnership holds immense potential for mutual benefit, and I look forward to collaborating closely with you and your administration to further enhance this partnership and for global peace and stability,” he wrote.

The United States (US) presidential election was held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Former President Donald Trump and US Vice President Kamala Harris competed to occupy the White House for the next four-year term.

Meanwhile, in a speech Wednesday night, Harris acknowledged her defeat to Trump in the US presidential election after a fierce, turbulent and divisive campaign.

Even though she has conceded defeat in the presidential election, she called on her supporters to keep fighting.

On the other hand, Democratic politician and President of the United States (US) Joe Biden also called Donald Trump via telephone. Biden congratulated Trump on winning the 2024 US presidential election and invited them to meet soon.

“President Biden expressed his commitment to ensuring a smooth transition and emphasized the importance of efforts to unite the country,” the White House statement said.
