In police records, the suspect became a fugitive from Interpol after being caught in a case of falsifying a car accident to claim insurance money of USD 60,000 or IDR 900 million in her home country.

“She had a vehicle that was insured and had an accident, thus it turned out after checking the vehicle, it was not the one insured so that the loss was on the insurance company,” said the Head of Sub Directorate IV of the Bali Police Directorate of Criminal Investigation AKBP Ni Luh Kompiang Srinadi, regarding this Belarus fugitive matter, to reporters on Thursday

Srinadi said the Belarus fugitive arrest was based on a letter from the Head of the International Relations Division No. R/288/III/HUM.4 4 9/2023/Divhubinter, 21 March 2023

Srinadi said AB is being held temporarily in the Bali Police Tabanan House cell for 20 days while awaiting an extradition schedule. In addition, his party has been unable to examine the Belarus fugitive because her legal adviser has not accompanied her.

“We have not yet conducted an examination because the person concerned asked to be accompanied by a lawyer, and also did not want to comment without being accompanied by a lawyer, so we cannot convey her activities while in Bali,” Srinadi stated
