The Jakarta Transportation Department is offering free disabled-friendly buses as part of the homecoming program for Eid al-Fitr in 2024. A total of 8 buses have been allocated to assist people with disabilities in returning to their hometowns.

According to Syafrin Liputo, the Head of the Jakarta Transportation Service, the registration requirements for the free homecoming program for people with disabilities are similar to those for the regular program. The Jakarta government has organized a fleet of 259 buses with destinations covering 19 regions across 6 provinces in Indonesia.

As mentioned earlier, the DKI Jakarta Transportation Department has initiated a free homecoming program for Eid 2024 with an allocated quota of around 18,760 individuals. Offering disabled-friendly buses underscores the Jakarta Government’s commitment to aiding its citizens without bias.

“If the demand exceeds the free homecoming quota, the Jakarta Government will augment both the number of bus fleets and participant slots,” stated Syafrin. Additionally, the Jakarta Government has readied 13 trucks for outbound traffic and 10 trucks for return traffic.

The government-provided trucks are designated for transporting motorcycles for travellers heading home, with the first batch of the free homecoming program scheduled to depart on 4th April 2024.

Participating in this free homecoming program is straightforward. Individuals can input their data at mudikgratis.jakarta.go.id if the quota is available. Subsequently, participants must verify their information offline by visiting the transportation service office in Jakarta with their family card and ID.

Since its official launch on 20th March 2024, the free homecoming quota provided by the Jakarta government was quickly depleted within three days. However, the Jakarta Transportation Service assured the public that registration would reopen if any quota remained.
