The Jakarta government is gearing up for car free nights during the 2024 New Year celebrations at multiple locations. According to Syafrin Liputo, the Head of the Jakarta Transportation Service, the plan involves organizing one car-free day and two car-free nights. The first implementation will commence on 24 December followed by the second on 31 December 2023.
The car free nights slated for 31 December 2023, will kick off at 7 PM local time, specifically in the Thamrin-Sudirman area. To ensure security during Christmas and the New Year, Polda Metro Jaya is deploying 4,041 joint personnel to preempt any potential threats.
