The President of the United States (US) Joe Biden has finally arrived in Bali at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport to attend the G20 Summit. The plane landed Sunday night at around 09.30 PM local time.
Sandiaga Uno Welcomed Joe Biden
Biden’s arrival was welcomed by the Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno. He received a special task from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to make the welcome.
“I have the honor and duty of the state to welcome Mr. President Joe Biden who landed in Bali tonight at around 09.45 PM at local time by using Air Force One,” he said.
As soon as he got off the plane, Biden was greeted by a Balinese dance. Biden smiled and walked towards the car. A number of people escorted Biden’s arrival. After that, Biden’s car left the airport for the night.
Besides Biden, South Korean (South Korean) President Yoon Suk-Yeol also arrived on the same day. Previously, the Indonesian government had received confirmation of the direct presence of 17 G20 leaders at the summit.
17 of G20 Leaders Will Be Present at The Summit
“We have received reports that all 17 heads of state are ready to participate, which is very encouraging in these difficult times,” Joko Widodo, President of Indonesia, said in a press statement after arriving in Bali, Sunday, November 13, 2022.
Jokowi also stated that United States (US) President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping would attend. In addition, Jokowi emphasized Indonesia’s commitment to world peace.
“Moreover, President Joe Biden and President Xi Jinping will also attend. Indonesia will continue to fight for world peace and be part of the solution to various crises and economic recovery,” said Jokowi.

G20 Indonesia Summit
The G20 is a strategic multilateral platform that connects countries with the world’s major economies. G20 members represent more than 80 percent of the world’s economy, 75 percent of international trade, and 60 percent of the world’s population.
The intense G20 Summit Forum is held every year by presenting each head of state or head of government. This year, Indonesia officially holds the G20 president after previously being held in Italy.
Indonesia carries the spirit of recovery together with the theme “Recover Together, Recover Stronger”. There are three priority issues in Indonesia’s G20 presidency, namely the global health architecture, digital transformation, and the transition to sustainable energy.
The G20 Indonesia Summit will be held in Bali on November 15-16, 2022. This event is the summit of a series of G20 agendas during Indonesia’s G20 presidency.
