KCIC Readies 20,000 High Speed Rail ‘Whoosh’ Tickets Daily for Christmas and New Year Holidays 2024

Ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays in 2024, PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia-China (KCIC) has readied 20,000 Whoosh tickets daily for the upcoming days. To facilitate travel to Jakarta or Bandung, tickets can be purchased on the departure day via the official Whoosh high-speed-rail purchasing platform (16/12/2023).

Operational hours run from 6:15 AM to 8:30 PM local time, offering a headway of 25-35 minutes during regular hours and 50-60 minutes during peak times. To optimize service during this extended holiday period, KCIC utilizes dynamic pricing to determine train tickets rates, taking into account factors like demand, departure schedules, and time frames. Here’s the latest update on Whoosh tickets prices:

To prepare for the year-end rush, KCIC’s Corporate Communication Manager, Emir Monti, highlighted the repair and regular inspection of various facilities like the Electric Multiple Unit (EMU), overhead electricity systems, rails, and additional supporting infrastructure.

Since its inception in October 2023, Whoosh has completed 1,869 trips by 17 December 2023, boasting an on-time departure rate of 99.9%. The current punctuality stands at 95%, continuously evaluated by KCIC to ensure top-notch passenger service. Research by the Katadata Insight Center 2023 revealed that over 90% of Indonesians are keen to experience Whoosh firsthand. Surveying 1504 respondents, the study indicated that the current ticket prices align well with the offered amenities and comfort level.

Currently, KCIC offers various methods for purchasing high-speed-rail, Whoosh tickets, both online and offline. For online booking, you can use the Whoosh app, Access by KAI, Livin by Mandiri, or visit the official website at ticket.kcic.co.id.

For offline Whoosh tickets buying, you can visit the counters or vending machines at the high-speed train station. Offline ticket purchases are available up to 7 days before departure and up to 2 hours before departure time.
