About Andrian Syahputra

Andrian Syahputra

I’m Andrian Syahputra, a designer with 17 years plus of diverse design experience. I founded Friday, a branding & design agency, to help people with their businesses. I’m relentless and passionate about what I do, and I’m always striving to create lasting partnerships built on trust.

I’ve learned that the key to success is to approach each project with humility and a willingness to listen. I’m not afraid to roll up my sleeves and get my hands dirty, and I’m always eager to learn from the people I work with.

Why did you start Friday Agency?

Friday Agency

When I first started out, I never imagined I’d one day be running my own graphic design agency, Friday. But through a relentless passion for my craft and a deep desire to help others with their businesses, that’s exactly what happened. And I did my study in design diploma & master degree back in Sydney and Melbourne before, so just the way forward.

Tell us more about Friday Agency!

I consider myself a simple, easy-going guy at heart. My goal has always been to create lasting partnerships built on trust, not just short-term transactions. It brings me so much joy to work closely with clients and bring their visions to life through thoughtful, impactful design.

We are a small, dedicated team of designers, copywriters, photographers, and illustrators who work together to create impactful designs for our clients. From annual reports and school yearbooks to websites and branding, we approach each project with care and attention to detail, building it from concept to final design.

While we may not have the resources of a large agency, our close-knit team allows us to provide a personalized, hands-on experience. We take the time to truly understand our clients’ goals and vision, and then pour our hearts into delivering designs that exceed their expectations.

It’s a privilege to play a part in bringing our clients’ ideas to life, and we’re honored that they trust our relatively small team with such important work. We may not be the biggest, but we strive to be the best at what we do – creating beautiful, effective designs that make a lasting impression.

What are the challenges of running a business in Jakarta?

Building a successful design business takes hard work, dedication, and a willingness to continuously learn and adapt. The creative industry is highly competitive, and standing out can be a real challenge.

Nurturing a strong professional network and developing genuine relationships with others in the field is crucial. Maintaining a reputation for integrity, providing valuable solutions to clients, and finding joy in the work are all important aspects of sustainable success.

We must be willing to venture into diverse industries and subject matter, constantly expanding their knowledge and Skillset. It’s a humbling process, but one that can be incredibly rewarding for those who approach it with passion and perseverance.

So where do you see your businesses in 10 years?

In 10 years, we hope to have grown our business in ways we can scarcely imagine today. Expanding into new markets, perhaps even reaching across the ocean to Asia, is certainly a dream we hold. But we approach this future with humility, knowing that true sustainability and profitability will require hard work, smart decisions, and a willingness to adapt to whatever challenges arise.

As a small business, we recognise that our ambitions must be tempered by realism. Growth for growth’s sake is not our aim – rather, we hope to expand in a way that allows us to serve our customers even better, to provide fulfilling work for our team, and to make a positive impact in our community. It’s a delicate balance, to be sure, but one we are committed to striking.

We don’t have all the answers, and we know there will be setbacks along the way. But with creativity, resilience, and a healthy dose of self-awareness, we believe we can turn our aspirations into reality. The path ahead may twist and turn, but we’re ready to embrace the journey, wherever it may lead.

Do you have any business advice or a business mantra you live by?

Grateful with God, Honesty, Results oriented, Taking really good care for your team & the ones that support you the most, Create a trust relationship with your clients, and trust no one.
