About Ervan
I’m an individual who embraces life with a sense of optimism and balance. I have a deep appreciation for the finer things—whether that’s indulging in gourmet dining, attending jazz or classical music performances, or enjoying a fine glass of red or white wine.
I’m a fan of craft cocktails, especially a well-made Long Island Iced Tea when the occasion calls for it. While I enjoy social events, I prioritize living a healthy lifestyle. I work out regularly and maintain a balanced, yet moderate approach to my diet.
Travel is another passion of mine; whenever the opportunity arises, I’m eager to explore new places. As an extrovert, I thrive in social settings, but I also find great peace and inspiration in solitude. Spending time in coffee shops, reading books on philosophy, psychology, anthropology, epistemology, and literature, is my ideal way to recharge.
Writing has always been a passion of mine, and I consider myself both a writer and poet—despite my other professional endeavors. For me, writing is a much-needed escape from reality, a way to express creativity and contemplation.
Why did you start the business?
With a background in both hospitality management and the fashion industry, I have always had a strong entrepreneurial spirit. My time working at a vegan café was pivotal in realising that I wanted to create something of my own—something that would not only promote a healthy lifestyle through food and beverages but also raise awareness about the importance of wellness.
On the fashion side, I have been involved in producing clothing since I was 14, helping to build a family brand. This experience led me to co-found Eron Shoes Indonesia and to launch Ermans Juicy in Seminyak.
Through these ventures, I am committed to sharing my ideology of minimalist yet sophisticated living, where quality and style can be accessible to everyone—whether in the form of healthy dining or fashionable yet affordable footwear.
Tell us more about Erons Indonesia and Ermans Juicy?
My business spans both the food and beverage and fashion sectors. In the food and beverage industry, my focus is on promoting healthy living by offering nourishing, fresh food and drinks that encourage a balanced lifestyle.
For the fashion side, the vision is to challenge the notion that one has to be wealthy to be stylish. I believe in providing high-quality, original footwear at an affordable price—accessible to a wide range of individuals, including students, young professionals, and anyone seeking elegance on a budget.
Both businesses are driven by my passion for delivering exceptional products that align with my values of quality, health, and conscious living.
What are the challenges of running a business in Jakarta and Bali?
Running a business in Jakarta and Bali comes with its own set of unique challenges. In Jakarta, the competition is fierce, and businesses often engage in price wars, which can make it difficult to maintain a sustainable pricing model. The market dynamics require continuous innovation and strategic positioning to stand out.
In Bali, particularly in the food and beverage sector, my business is heavily reliant on the tourism industry. The ebb and flow of tourist traffic directly impacts our sales, and it can be unpredictable. This seasonal variation requires adaptability and the ability to pivot our approach to stay aligned with shifting demand.
Where do you see your business in 10 years?
As an individual who values both realism and idealism, I approach the future with a sense of optimism, tempered with a practical mindset. While I cannot predict the exact trajectory of my businesses, I am confident that they will grow and evolve.
I envision expanding internationally, gaining recognition for both the quality of our products and the integrity of our values. For now, I take a balanced approach—trusting in both the universe and in God’s guidance—and focus on the steady growth of my businesses while maintaining an open mind to the opportunities ahead.
Do you have any business advice or a personal mantra?
One core principle that guides me is a belief in the kindness of the universe, the higher powers, and the people around us. I see business as a journey that, like any gamble, requires strategy, patience, and the right mindset. Success is not just about financial gains—it’s about finding balance in life.
While ambition is essential to attract investors and drive business forward, it’s equally important to remain present, to appreciate the beauty of life, and to nurture genuine relationships with others.
For me, true wealth is found in emotional intelligence and the ability to regulate one’s emotions. In business, it’s about navigating relationships and circumstances with grace, understanding, and integrity. I believe that financial success will follow when you approach business with positivity, trust, and a long-term vision—no matter the challenges you face.
