Bali Update: Over 50,000 Vehicles Enter Bali for Year-End Holiday 2023-2024

As the year-end holiday approaches, Bali remains a top choice for vacationers due to its numerous tourist spots. From December 19th to 25th, 2023, Gilimanuk Port recorded 52,548 vehicles carrying a total of 215,561 passengers.

“The count of vehicles entering Bali via Gilimanuk Harbor from December 19th to 24th, during Christmas 2023/2024, stands at 43,934 vehicles,” stated I Gde Wayan Samsi Gunarta, Head of the Bali Transportation Service, on 26th December 2023.

Compared to 2022, there has been a significant surge of 124% in tourist numbers in 2023. The Bali government has put considerable effort into bolstering the tourism sector to enhance both foreign and domestic visits. The actual count of foreign tourists reached 4.8 million, surpassing the initial target of 4.5 million.

 


As the year-end holiday brings an influx of tourists to Bali, hotel occupancy rates have also surged in 2023. Presently, the average hotel occupancy hovers between 75-90%, with the Denpasar Government aiming for full occupancy reaching 100% by early 2024.

Before and after the New Year celebrations, tourists typically stay in Bali for 5-7 days. Several key areas experience high tourist density during this year-end holiday, including Denpasar, Kuta, Ubud, Sanur, Uluwatu, and Kintamani, renowned for its breathtaking mountain and lake vistas.

Numerous tourist destinations await visitors during the year-end holiday in Bali. Free fireworks displays light up various spots like Kuta Beach or Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park. Additionally, renowned beach clubs like Atlas, Finns, CANNA, and Mrs Sippy host New Year celebration parties that are not to be missed.
