ASEAN member nations established the ASEAN Tourism Award to recognize the efforts made by tourism stakeholders to promote excellent and high-quality travel destinations. One outcome of this award is anticipated to be the unification of ASEAN. Pemuteran Village won the third Asean Community Tourism Awards 2023–2025 category at the ASEAN Tourism Awards 2023 in Yogyakarta.

One of the island’s greatest diving and snorkelling spots is offered in Pemuteran Village, a rural area of North Bali. Pemuteran, which abuts the West Bali National Park and hugs the island’s northern shore, is the perfect place for adventurous tourists who want to explore Bali’s natural beauty on land and underwater.

Pemuteran Village, one of Bali’s most underrated hidden gems, lies on the island’s northwest coast. Although the secluded location is by no means a popular destination for tourists, divers, snorkelers, and anyone wishing to get away from South Bali, tourist crowds have come to love it. Most visitors come here, particularly for diving, and the region is littered with tour companies that offer guided excursions locally and to the nearby Menjangan Island.

Pemuteran Village has a respectable range of hotels and eateries. Still, the best way to appreciate the stunning village is to explore Bali on its own, with its stunning natural surroundings and fascinating cultural history. Pemuteran Village has had minor development, preserving the atmosphere of a traditional Balinese community. A lovely cove with calm, swimmable seas surrounds Pemuteran. Also, the village serves as a convenient starting point for trips into the surrounding West Bali National Park.

How to Get to Pemuteran Village

Pemuteran Village is located in West Bali’s Buleleng Regency. Due to a lack of public transportation, the easiest way to get to this village is to use a cab or private vehicle. The drive to Pemuteran Village by car from Ngurah Rai International Airport takes around three and a half hours. If Gilimanuk Harbor is your starting point, it is only a one-hour drive away. Just hire a car from your trusted tour agency to make your trip more convenient and comfortable.

What to Do

The core attractions in Pemuteran Village are swimming and snorkelling. The region features some of Bali’s most vibrant aquatic life and some of the earliest local coral protection initiatives. Although the previously damaged coral has a ways to go before it fully recovers, the artificial structures make for a beautiful snorkelling experience. Many travellers are going to Pemuteran Village to see its well-known neighbour, Menjangan Island. The island is renowned for having some of Bali’s finest diving locations and is directly off its northwestern coast.

The marvels of the village’s underwater world are just one aspect of its grandeur. Although beaches and crystal-clear oceans surround the West Bali National Park, exploring the lush green woods and gorgeous mountain range is worthwhile. The park is home to over 100 different kinds of animals, the most famous of which is endemic to this area, the nearly extinct Bali starling.

What to Eat & Drink

The shore is dotted with resorts that offer casual seaside dining at prices similar to those in the heart of Bali. Most places serve a combination of traditional Western meals and local favorites. There are several warungs and cafes alongside the main road where you can find more reasonably priced and authentic local food.

A visit to Pemuteran Village is a worthwhile endeavuor to treasure. Pemuteran Village has a lot of memorable sights to offer, including its beautiful natural surroundings, direct experiences, and the warmth of the locals. It is understandable why the village received the ASEAN Tourism Awards 2023 and rose to the top of the list of the best places to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
