PPKM Level 1 in Java-Bali Extended to 29 August 2022

16th August 2022 – The Indonesian government has extended the Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in Java-Bali region to reduce the rate of transmission of the Corona virus (Covid-19) on 16-29 August 2022. Meanwhile, PPKM outside Java-Bali which started on 2nd August will end on 5th September 2022.

During the PPKM for the next two weeks, all districts/cities in Java-Bali will be included in the PPKM Level 1 category. This is stated in the Inmendagri No. 40 of 2022 which was signed by the Minister of Home Affairs M. Tito Karnavian on 15th August 2022.

The Director General of Adwil for the Ministry of Home Affairs, Safrizal ZA, said that the PPKM was extended to increase awareness among the public against the spread of Covid-19 in Indonesia. He also said that the determination of Level 1 in the entire Java-Bali region was based on considerations and input from experts by taking into account the factual conditions in the field.

Safrizal also conveyed in a written statement, Tuesday (16/8) that booster vaccination must continue to be accelerated as well as the use of the PeduliLindungi application must continue to be carried out as one of the efforts to do the tracing and maximize the Community Activity Restrictions.

Activities at Malls and Markets

Activities at shopping centres, malls, or trade centres in the PPKM Level 1 area in Java-Bali are allowed to operate 100 percent up to 22.00 local time using the PeduliLindungi application or the implementation of more stringent health protocols, the regulation of which is further regulated by the Regional Government.

Restaurant and Cafe

During PPKM level 1, restaurants and cafes with small, medium, or large scales both in separate locations and those located in shopping centres or malls can serve meals on the spot with limited operating hours until 22.00 local time with a capacity of 100 visitors. percent. Meanwhile, restaurants and cafes with operating hours starting at night or at 18.00 local time can operate up to a maximum of 02.00 local times with a maximum capacity of 100 percent.

Cinema

Cinemas in PPKM level 1 areas can operate with a maximum capacity of 100 percent and only visitors with the green category in the PeduliLindungi application may enter unless they cannot be vaccinated for health reasons. In addition, children aged 6-12 years must be accompanied by parents and show proof of vaccination at least the first dose.

Public Areas and Parks

The government also regulates, that public facilities such as public areas, public parks, public tourist attractions and other public areas in the Level 1 PPKM area may be opened with a maximum capacity of 100 percent.

Art Activities in Public Facilities

Currently, arts, culture, sports and social activities (locations of arts, culture, sports facilities and social activities that can cause crowds and crowds) in level 1 areas can be opened with a maximum capacity of 100 percent.

Gym or Fitness Place

The government has also tightened activities at fitness centres or gyms where PPKM level 1 is currently allowed to open with a maximum capacity of 100 percent while still implementing the Covid-19 health protocol.

Wedding reception

The reception in the PPKM Level 1 Java-Bali area can be carried out with a maximum capacity of 100 percent.
