Ramen-Ya!: Delicious Halal Ramen for a Cheap Price — When you go to Central Park Lower Ground during lunch or dinner time, you might find people waiting in front of a shop for something. But what’s that something? Well, it’s the newest hit Ramen shop in Jakarta, Ramen-Ya!
Be prepared to line up for quite a long time when you visit during rush hour because it’s guaranteed that you won’t be able to get any seat without waiting for a few names above you. However, I got lucky to just wait for five minutes since I went with my friend.
The menu is quite spectacular and loud, you’ll be able to tell right away which Ramen is their signature ramen. What we ordered for this visit is their Legendary Chicken Ramen and also the Spicy Spicy Chicken Shoyu Ramen with Grilled Chicken Shrimp Gyoza for our sides.
Despite how hectic the entire place is with lots of new customers coming in and ordering, the staff manages to get our order and serve our ramen relatively fast. We don’t wait for hours for it to come nor do there any of our orders that they got it wrong. Additionally, they’re able to refill our Cold Ocha when we ask for it almost immediately. It was one thing to be admired, to be able to act swiftly during the dinner rush hours.
For the ramen itself, it was delicious. If you tend to eat pork ramen, you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference if the broth was made out of chicken. It’s thick, creamy, and rich with flavour at every slurp of the noodle, which is the perfect chewy consistency for me. The chicken strips are delicious too, very juicy however the soup is the heart of the ramen in my opinion.
The gyoza came smaller than I would’ve expected it regardless, it’s okay for me. Though they could have added more ginger in it overall, for the taste, it doesn’t really stand out but is delicious either way.
They really try to put as many customers in while making sure that the health protocol is still being practiced thus if you go with another person, chances you’ll get one table only, which can feel a little bit restrictive.
Taste and service-wise, it’s great ramen at a reasonable price. It is still able to make you walk out of the restaurant satisfied with a happy tummy. What’s more, your wallet wouldn’t be harmed at the price for each ramen either. It’s a recommended restaurant for you who crave ramen yet don’t have much money to spare for it.
