The pandemic has almost ended, and the number of Covid-19 cases in Jakarta starting to dwindle slowly but steadily. It’s the perfect time to start meeting people and networking after two years of minimum face-to-face interactions. To introduce Social Expat to expatriates in Jakarta, our very first event is held at Costess, Cyber 2 Tower in Kuningan on a quite cloudy Friday night (30/9).

However, the cloudy sky does not stop the festivities and excitement as expatriates from different nations gathered together as early as 7:30 PM. Right after the registration table, one of the most eye-catching spots in the room is the photo booth section. Guests are able to take a picture for free, using some fun and silly props provided to make their pictures much more memorable. As this is the very first social networking event, guests boast about their appearance in this event through their social media. Take about how to spend the last Friday night of September with a bang!

As people slowly gathered inside the rooftop section of Costess which, provides a beautiful view of the busy streets accompanied by live music that gets you to relax and forget about the long business days to welcome the weekend.

The main event, social networking, starts almost immediately with free flow Heineken beers are served to every guest. This is the moment where the event is the noisiest, as everyone laughs with their new friends and connects with different people sharing their experiences living in Indonesia.

At this point, several laughter can be heard in Costess. It was such a fun and exciting night that other guests of the restaurants got curious to see what is going on. But unfortunately, the two hours of social networking have come to end.

A very brief information about the next event is held by our beautiful MC of the night, Gita Regina, who introduces what Social Expat is, thanks the sponsors and then draw several lucky people who have put their business card inside the fish bowl in the registration booth earlier to win vouchers to Purple Pineapple Studio products, Letsmove Indonesia services or Costess cashback vouchers.

Even after the event has ended, the networking is still ongoing as most people refused to leave and still mingle around to talk to their new friends. People also started to flood in the photo booth area as they want to keep this night memorable.
