Eleven : A Hidden ‘Speakeasy’ in Mega Kuningan

Share:

Looking for a new experience for your nightlife in Jakarta? Located in Sopo Del Mega Kuningan is a hidden bar that offers a Japanese-style retro atmosphere that will take you to a whole other world away from the busy hustle life of Jakarta.

This clandestine spot is originally a place where alcoholic beverages are sold illegally. The name popped up around the United States during the Prohibition era (1920 – 1933) where alcohol was strongly prohibited at that time.

A speakeasy is commonly hidden underground of a hotel or restaurant with selected individuals or regular customers who can get in.

The concept is then translated to a unique way of entering Eleven—as from the front, the entrance looks like an ordinary wall with a poster and a telephone nearby.

After being granted access inside, you will be taken to a completely different world where the light of the sun does not shine through. The interior will take you back to a 60s-era Japanese locomotive with soft Japanese music of that era played.

Not only do they serve liquors here but also some authentic and unique Japanese semi-fine dining experiences that you will not find elsewhere. For those who look  for more variety of Japanese liquor in Jakarta, Eleven serves broader options compared to other bars.

Their alcoholic beverages range from their signature cocktails, aperitif and digestif, vodka, sake, soju, Japanese whiskey and malt, and more.

Not only that, a long list of Japanese fusion food like fresh Japanese oysters with ponzu sauce, teppanyaki, yakitori, curry, donburi, sushi rolls, and pasta and noodles.

Following the speakeasy in the United States back in the days, you will be asked for a password to enter the bar. The password will be changed every week so make sure to stay tuned to their Instagram account prior to experiencing the one-of-the-kind experience bar in Jakarta.

If you are looking for a place to chill out with your friends after work, make sure to try out Eleven Bar Jakarta!
