These seven tourists were among the numerous local and foreign tourists who visited Pererenan Beach. Both swimming and surfing were among the victims’ activities.

The victims were surfers up until it was discovered that they had vanished beneath the waves, according to the Mengwi Police officer.

It is stated that when someone shouted that several surfers were being carried away by the waves, the tourists near the coast began to fear. The seven visitors who perished in the tragedy were AL (83) from England, MS (24) and JF (30) from Germany, D (48) from Russia, BM (24), GA (25), and MN (23) from Australia.

Iptu I Ketut Sudana, the head of the Badung Police’s public relations division, verified the occurrence. On Pererenan beach, it is rumoured that the seven foreigners were carried off by the waves.

“Every foreigner was in the water. Seven tourists were saved by the Pererenan lifeguard officer”, explained Sudana.

“They were carried to the coast in critical condition after being discovered. They then made contact with KBS (One-Stop Joint Institution) Pererenan to request transportation to the Mengwi II Health Center in Tumbak Bayuh. They were directed there to the Regional Public Hospital Kapal. The hospital’s medical team confirmed one of them dead, while the other wounded are still being treated there. They are gradually getting better,” he said.
